Tre'lan Michael // Model and Surfer
@trelan.michael was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma and moved to Kauai, Hawaii in 2014. Tillman has lived in Los Angeles for a year. He is currently a model represented by Wilhelmina Models and Monday's Management. Prior to his modeling career, Tillman has worked as a bartender, cook, medical assistant, yoga teacher and Cacao farm worker. He has been surfing for about six years after a lifelong love of the water. Tillman said he was drawn to surfing in a quest to find community, which he first found in 2015 in Hawaii where he acquired his first board. He proceeded to dedicate all his efforts to teach himself and put in the time to grow his abilities and earn the respect of his peers. Although his travels would take him around the world, he would always find himself back in Hawaii, his home, to surf, reconnect and grow. The "Wade in the Water" limited-edition portrait series showcases activists, pioneers, and future leaders in Southern California's BIPOC surf community adorned with the leaves of Afrocarpus gracilior, the African Fern Pine. The leaves symbolize the ancestral roots connecting back to Africa and nature. 20% of the proceeds from art sales are pledged to five non-profit organizations. Utility • Early access to a sneak preview of the documentary • 1 Year subscription to exclusive content, photos and videos from the Wade in the Water channel
