The photographs of living cancer cells were taken using a confocal microscope. Each of them were placed on a canvas as a base for an artwork. Then, Polish artist Paweł SWANSKI, known for creating energetic and beautiful ivy-like structures, created paintings showing how his ivy entangles and suffocates the living cancer cells. Each of the three artworks, as well as the entire performance of their creation, have been recorded, turned into NFT collections and offered on the largest international NFT platforms: VAST and OpenSea. The funds raised through the project will be donated to the Alivia Cancer Foundation and be used to finance the CAR-T cell therapy of patients selected at the Maria Skłodowska-Curie National Institute of Oncology in Gliwice, Poland. The first patient featured is Jakub Burnos – a student at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, who suffers from a rare and resistant form of aggressive B-cell lymphoma.
